Hello all,
Wow, that month went by quickly! CopyNight is next Wednesday (the 26th) at 7:30pm at the Maiden on Morrison (http://maideninthemist.com 639 SE Morrison 503.232.5553).
I will kick the conversation off about alternate business models for musicians (and other artists??). I'm definitely not an expert on the music industry but I've been watching with interest as models for models for distributing music and compensating artists have flourished. How should artists be compensated for their work? What really does promote the production of art? Should there really even be an "industry" associated with music? How many of our ideas about the work of a musician are rooted in technology for distribution of music? I'm looking forward to an interesting discussion!
